I'm not sure if I'm actually the first person to come up with a deck like this, but as far as I know no one has made a deck based around the Seraph card yet, so I'm giving it a try.

  • Obviously, this is a work in progress so If you have any suggestions, feel free to post an alternate build at the bottom of the page.

Strategy:[]

Basically this deck plays like an Aether mono where you've traded your Dim Shields for better creature/permanent control and stronger and cheaper Phase Dragons, and as such the directions below are a little sparse.

First, clearly you want to get all your pillars out, (even if your opponent has really heavy permanent control, you can't afford to put your pillars out slowly with the cost of your Seraphs) and then play and immortalize your Seraphim. If you don't have at least  one Immaterial Seraph by the end of your 6th turn (which should never really happen) you may as well call it quits because your damage won't ever be high enough to kill you opponent before you lose. In most cases though, you should win by the 9-10th turn, with 2-4 Seraphs and about 50% health.

Use Fire Bolts/Rains of Fire/Deflagrations at your discretion, although you should try to save them for things that directly interfere with your strategy, like Devourers, Dragons, Maxwell's Demons, Owl's Eyes, Lobotomizers, Discords, Dim/Dusk/Fire Shields, etc.

Strengths:[]

Decent L3 AI grinder, at about 70% win rate.

A good range of control cards makes it easy to stall for long enough to get out your Seraphim even when you have a bad draw.

30 card deck, so you should usually get what you want when you want it.

Weaknesses:[]

Aether decks. Since almost all true Aether decks have at least 4 Dim Shields, a few Lightning Bolts, and a Lobotomizer they can wreak havoc with your strategy.

Decks that are heavy on spell based creature control, as your Seraphs are extremely vulnerable on the turn you play them.

Upgrades:[]

Start with Pillars or Seraphs as your Seraph's quanta cost doesn't change when you upgrade, and playing a turn early always helps. Then upgrade Rain of Fire and Firewall as it heavily cuts their cost, then upgrade your Deflagrations/Fire Bolts in whatever order you like.
